Quick post for you tonight. I have to rush back to my desk for more meetings!
As my regular blog readers know, I've been trying to get out of a crafting funk and a good way for me to do that is to try things completely outside of my usual comfort zone, and also to do some CASEing.
Well, I saw the Tim Holtz inspired Christmas Kit at SSS and it's a set definitely out of my comfort zone, as it is vintage, but there were so many fabulous cards to CASE, I knew it would be a good thing.
This card was cased from Richelle Christensen.
I changed a couple of things: the sentiment is different, there's less distressing, the base is a different color, and I created a clean and simple bow. Regardless, you can tell where this fabulous card came from and I take no credit for it's design. It was a great card for me to CASE because of the techniques Richelle used: distress sponging, blending, Perfect Pearls, and more layers than I normally do these days.
I needed some white snowflakes, and found some old SU rub-ons that were perfect for the card. I had such fun recreating this image and wanted to share it with you in case it inspired something in you.

Can’t believe you are still in a crafting funk – your cards have been so beautiful lately. This one is really nice, and I especially liked the one called Peace. And the metallic pieces. I should be in such a funk!
I’ve not been able to stamp much of anything since the OWH card drive. I was so intent and focused on making those cards I didn’t have time to be in a funk. Now…
I’m still working with the felt ornaments and hope to be done in time for some card making when Lissie arrives for Thanksgiving.
I do so love the look of this card with the blues and the star. It’s just lovely. Hopefully your funk will end shortly!
