Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week – and it's a CAS theme challenge!
CAS and Christmas – right up my alley! I decided to use my new Modern Deer stamp from Altenew, but use one of the dies that I don't get to use very often as it is part of the Hero Arts Fairy collection that I bought a few months ago, but was perfect for the woodland scene I wanted to create.
I die-cut the frame from Neenah Solar White card stock and add only one little spot of color – on the little bird. I then added a piece of acetate behind the die-cut, stamped the deer on the base and colored the area around the deer with my copic markers. All that was left to do was add the sentiment and, the final touch – the shaker elements. I found some old flower sequins in my stash, but they looked a little like snowflakes, so I decided to use them and I think they were perfect 🙂
Here's my card:
I love this layered deer stamp and is one of the sets that I have chosen to use for our personal Christmas cards this year, so you can expect this set to be making an appearance a few more times 🙂
I hope you will play along with us this wee and, as usual, if you are looking for some fabulous inspiration, you have to look no further than our design team:
On a personal note:
Well… it finally happened. From temps in the high 60s and low 70s – the temps dropped to the 20s and it SNOWED! Yes! Finally. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! All it takes is for the first snowfall to hit the ground and I am ready to hang my Christmas stockings. Well, not literally, as I don't hang Christmas stockings – but you get the idea. So, on Black Friday, whilst people are looking for bargains, we will be decorating the house and outdoor getting ready for Christmas.
I'll be back tomorrow with some photos for you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

What a beautiful card, Jaydee. I love the Woodland die cut. After searching on the Hero Arts website, I was unable to find the Woodland die set. As far as you know, was this die only available for a short period of time?
Thanks!
Karen
