Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's my pleasure to host the Paper Players challenge this week. As the leaves are falling all around us, I thought this challenge would be perfect!
Of course, as Christmas is just around the corner, you aren't tied to a fall theme at all. Any tree, any leaf, any occasion!
Me… I used one of my favorite all time ever SU sets – French Foliage. Instead of a fall card I opted to make a masculine birthday card. No ribbon! Just for Lou. Lou says he doesn't care what color the ribbon is – ribbon is a girl thing! So, I used Baker's Twine instead!
I paired the Early Espresso base with Ivory Naturals and More Mustard card stock. The smaller leaf was inked in Cajun Craze and the larger leaf inked in More Mustard and I used the "rock and roll" technique to give the outer edges a Bravo Burgundy edge. The sentiment is the Bitty Banners set.
Wondering where I got the sketch? Well, I saw this great sketch across at Operation Write Home. Talking of OWH – I'm thinking its about time for another card drive. What do you all think? Up for it? Want to participate? As usual, I'll offer up blog candy! Why don't you leave me a message or send me an email and let me know if you would like to participate.
Don't forget to pop along to the Paper Players and play along with my challenge this week. I really do hope you will join us. Also, pop along to OWH and check out the challenge there, too!
Now, check out the other Paper Players blogs and see what amazing creations they have cooked up for this challenge.
On a personal note:
Sorry I haven't been around the last couple of days. A little bout of food poisoning has kept me from feeling great. I'm feeling better tonight and am hoping to get into my craft space to make some more cards tomorrow.
As always, thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. Special prayers for Ivor, Ann and RuthAnn.
Have a beautiful Sunday!
Hugs
Jaydee

Beautiful card, Jaydee! Those gorgeous leaves look like they are glowing in the sunlight.
Great card! I’m ready for OWH. I’ve been making and saving cards since the last time. Thank you for doing this. Just forward the details.
Jaydee, this is beautiful! Love the rock and roll technique with those leaves! Looks fabulous!!!
Sorry you haven’t been feeling well 🙁 Food poisoning is NOT fun and in fact when I had it, I felt like I was going to die. Worst feeling I’ve ever had. Hope you are on the road to recovery!!!
Beautiful Jaydee! I love your leaves and how they look like the sun is shining on them. Great fall colors and perfectly masquline.
So sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. Hope you are resting and will be back to 100% very soon. It’s no fun to be ill on a long holiday weekend. Hugs!
OWH would be something I’d be interested in. I could contribute a small amount this time. You’ll have to let me know which holidays and card themes would be accepted this round and I’ll get started.
Gorgeous card, Jaydee. Love the colors and the rock-n-rolled leaves. I especially like how you stamped over the dsp and the background with the coordinating stamps from the FF set. Such a great detail and adds so much to the overall look. Food poisoning is awful–I hope you’re feeling much better! ((hugs))
Love the card. The colors you were able to achieve really set off the beauty of the set. The card drive sounds like a fabulous idea. I have some swaps of yours that I came across when cleaning my room (yes, I do clean my stamping room occasionally!). Sorry to hear about the food poisoning. Ick! Hope you are feeling better.
Hugs!
This is such a fabulous man’s card Jaydee – love the colours, stamped background and the button/twine. I’ve had the same conversation with my hubby about ribbon and he says that even if I tie a knot it still qualifies as a ‘bow’ and is therefore girly lol! Thanks for the fun challenge this week!
I just love French Foliage and you did it proud. Gorgeous card!
I too am ready for OWH. My sister and I have been working on them. Please send the information. I already have 20 or so cards ready.
Great card! French Foliage is probably my favorite set; you just can’t make a bad card with those beautiful leaves. I hope you are feeling better. Food poisoning is just awful.
Hi Jaydee! I just wanted to pop back in to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed the cards from your challenge. They have all been outstanding! I guess I’m ready for my favorite season and this has put me in the mood. ; ) Couldn’t have anything to do with our lousy weather and high humidity…nah.
Hope you feel better soon, Jaydee!
Love the monochromatic card base and the pop of color you added with the leaf panel. Such a great card for fall!
Gorgeous….my favorite nature set and in some beautiful fall colors! Thanks for a terrific challenge!
Stunning. Truly stunning. OH how I adore autumn and that card captures the essence of it. It is magnificent, Jaydee, and if anything can help me recapture that mojo that’s gone missing, it’s this challenge! :o)
Hugs!
Absolutely stunning, Jaydee! I love the dark colors…so rich! And what a fabulous sketch!
