Back to school for Cas-ual Fridays

Hi Everyone.  Happy Labor Day.  I hope you have all had a wonderful day with your friends and families and had the chance to enjoy this very late summer weather.

Many of you have children that will be returning to school tomorrow.  It was perfect timing for Cas-ualfridays to have a back to school challenge.  Many decades later, I still remember going back to school after summer break.  New classes, new teachers and a whole new year!  There are so many teachers that I remember from my days in school – all the way back to junior school.  Some teachers can have a profound effect on your life and even those teachers I was not so fond of taught me something about life.

I remember Mr Carter and Mrs Bingham from Junior School.  Two wonderful teachers who really enjoyed their jobs and epitomized what makes teachers great.   I remembers Miss Barton.  Oh, dear!  She taught me valuable lessons even though she was a truly terrible teacher.  She used to make fun of a young boy in our class who grew up in a house with 12 children and very, very little money.  It was cruel and unnecessary.  It taught me, at an early age, that we should never take for granted what we have and look down on others for what they don't.

In high school…. Mrs Tucker and Mr Clarke.   My two most favorite teachers ever.  They both taught me that learning was fun and that what I learned would live with me forever.    That's the theme of my clean and simple back to school card tonight.   I dedicate this card to all my blog readers who are teachers and to my own teachers. 

It's a clean and simple card with a sentiment that I believe is so true!

On a personal note:

Still one more day off work!  We took an extended weekend and it's great to have another day.  I managed to get a little time in my stamping space today and Lou?  Well, poor Lou, he's still painting!  I've finally gotten used to the furniture being in the spaces now.  It's amazing how huge a piece of furniture can feel when you are accustomed to an empty room!  After a few days, the furniture is starting to feel right.  We have only a couple more pieces of furniture left to arrive and these are the finishing touch pieces.  We are also ready to start to place art work and other decorative elements on the walls.  It's really starting to feel like home!

We came downstairs last night and Bailey had found himself a new place to lie.  On top of one of the cabinets.  So, he managed to find the highest place in the house!

He was fast asleep when we came downstairs and was none too happy that I had disturbed him to take his picture!

Well, I think most of us will remember "Kilroy was here".  Well, last night Fred was looking in the window of the great room.  He saw me coming with a camera – and this was all I managed to catch!

However, I had managed to capture a shot of him earlier in the day.  He's never normally out and about in daytime.
