Hi Everyone.
Happy Saturday night. This is going to be a very quick post.
Tonight's Paper Players Challenge card was created using the fabulous CAS Sketch that the talented Nancy drew up for us.
When I saw the theme challenge across at Moxie Fab World, I had this idea on how I could use the sketch, combine it with the theme challenge using one of my favorite new sets.
Chickadee's are one of my favorite birds and I loved Beautiful Season set the minute I laid eyes on it. The Chickadee's stay with us throughout the winter and they are always the first harbinger of spring. Their see-saw call is heard in very early spring and, after the long Minnesota winters, it's one of the best sounds in the world.
I am in love with botanical this year and, in fact, have the two Pottery Barn pillows that are showcased on the Moxie link for the challenge 🙂
I hope you like my take on the combined challenges
Card details – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless noted
- Card Stock: Shimmer White , Whisper White, Riding Hood Red
- Inks: Lucky Limeade, Basic Grey, So Saffron, Daffodile Delight, Riding Hood Red, Tea Stain (a blending ink that comes with the Stampin' Up! distressing kit)
- Accessories: Basic Rhinestones colored using copics (I had to make the berries look all nice and shiny 🙂 )
- Tools: Oval Punches, Paper Snips
Tips:
- I blended the tea stain ink into Whisper White card stock. I then added Vanilla Shimmer Spritz (as I was layering it onto Shimmery White card stock). I then inked up the image and stamped it onto my focal layer. I stamped it again onto scrap card stock and colored in both sets of images.
- I fussy cut around the chickadee and layered him on top of the stamped image on the focal layer using Stampin' Dimensionals. Doing this just adds a little dimension and really makes him pop off from the background image. I cut the holly and adhered it to the top corner of the card.
- A small Basic Pearl was colored using a Sharpie. The small black pearl really does add life to the Chickadee and is really easy to do.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Sunday – filled with love, laughter and cool weather!
Hugs
Jaydee

Very pretty Jaydee! and very CAS!!!! Have a great Sunday!
Absolutely stunning, Jaydee! I love the colored rhinestones!
Oh me oh my!!!!! I LOVE this card Jaydee, absolutely stunning! I would like to ask re. under the listing of inks you mention the colour “tea stain”, did you dip your brush into a cup of tea, or is this a new SU colour! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, ours is nearly over, still a bit of rain around, but we still need every bit we can get! A big cuddle to your furbabies for me. Jan xx
Beautiful!
BEAUTIFUL! This is so my kind of card. Love your fussy cutting, coloring, color combo…..everything!
Jaydee, you have such a way of bringing the stamped images to life with your gorgeous watercoloring! I just love the fussy cut, branch and tea-stain distressing around the image, too. Coloring the rhinestones was the perfect touch. This set is on my wish list, for sure. The image is so pretty and I really like how it comes with a sentiment for the inside of the card as well. Those PB pillows are gorgeous, by the way. You just reminded me that I haven’t stopped in there in a while. (…which could end up being a bad thing!) Have a great day! Hugs! 🙂
Beautiful card Jaydee! Love your take on the circle elements of the sketch and amazing fussy cutting work on the branch! Beautiful watercolored chickadee–he is so life-like! Beautiful CAS card!

What a gorgeous card! Chickadees are my most favorite bird too. I’m afraid to get this set though because I’m not sure I’d do it justice in coloring. You’ve done such a wonderful job. I absolutely love your berries!!!!!!
Seems like I am the only one that doesn’t know what Fussy Cutting is, 🙁 Love the card.
Wow! That card is breath-takingly beautiful! it is so elegant! Great job! I always love the little hints you give us on how to make a card really special!
You snipping fool, you! That holly must have been a bear to snip, and it looks gorgeous! (Please pardon any errors, I have a snuggle-bug on my lap, leaning against my keyboard…) I LOVE the card. LOVE it. The chickadees, all of it. :o)
Things have settled down quite a bit for us, so maybe (fingers crossed!) I can get in to stamp some this week and might be able to play along. :o)
I wish you and everyone a wonderful start of the week.
Hope things are going well on your travels, Lou.
Hugs!
