Pattern Pieces for Paper Players # 135

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

I am SOOOOO late with my challenge card this week.  Lou and I have been out and about these last couple of days, leaving early and getting home late.  Consequently, I didn't get to my challenge card until very late this afternoon.  Once I sat down to do the card I realized that I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do!   oooooops!

The fabulously talented LeAnne has a great challenge for us this week:

Pp135sk
Once I sat down I realized that I didn't have anything that had a sewing theme and I have never used my sewing machine on a card.  Luckily I remembered that there was an MDS set called Pattern Pieces and I decided that would do perfectly. So, I popped along to SU and made my purchase and was ready to get going.  Immediately I saw the set, I knew exactly what sentiment I wanted to use!

Here's my card

Pp135 (2)

I know that there are probably many people in your life for whom this sentiment is appropriate!  I know there are in mine.

The design team really have some fabulous cards for your inspiration and everyone of them took the challenge in a different direction.  Pop along to the paperplayers and check out the design team cards, and the submission cards.

On a personal note:

We are expecting another major storm over the next couple of days.  Around 7-8 inches of snow.  Sadly, our little feline visitor has not been back and we are really hoping that he is snuggled up somewhere warm and safe and that he will grace us with his presence soon.

In the meantime, I thought I would share a couple of photographs of one of our most regular visitors to our feeders.  I never get tired of seeing these guys.

Pileated (5)

Check out the size of the hole he has excavated just underneath where he is perched…..

Pileated (6)

And look at the mess they have made of the stump!  It's astonishing how much they have cut into the stump in the 9 months that we have been here.

Stump

I loved the way the late afternoon setting sun caught the stump… in fact, I love the light at this time of the year.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits and your comments really do mean a great deal to me.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Your card is beautiful, but afraid I have to say the Pileated got more of my attention. Thanks for showing the photo of him! I haven’t seen one for years.

  5. Alas, I have nothing sewing related and have no clue what I could possible do for the challenge…I suppose that’s why it’s a challenge, right? ;o)
Love your card and the sentiment.
LOOOOOOVE the pileated guy!! He’s amazing! The light this time of year and in early fall in the afternoon is truly incredible.
Hoping your little guy returns soon or is safe and sound in a new home.
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)

Love the pictures of your woodpecker too!

  7. What a cool card…love, love, love it! What a fun way to interpret the theme. But the one that steals the show is the pileated–SO jealous that you have one so close!

  8. Love the pattern pieces. Someday I’ll learn to use MDS 🙂 Really love all the beautiful photos you share, too, Jaydee. That woodpecker is so amazing, I’ve never seen anything like it.
