Very quick post for you tonight!
I managed to play along with a couple of challenges today. I saw the challenge across at Friday Mashup and decided a Spring card was definitely on the cards… excuse the terrible pun! Especially as the sun is shining, the birds are singing and… the snow is melting!
Here's the Friday Mashup challenge
I decided to play along with the theme of spring – and use spring colors.
Here's my card:
As I had three tags left over from the Paper Players challenge this week, I decided to do another triptych card. As I wanted the flowers to be the star of the show, I left off any ribbon or twine from the tags and chose to add small enamel dots to cover the holes of the tags. They also tie into the white embossed sentiment.
I must admit, Gumball Green is one of my favorite all time SU green's. It's just such a rich green and pairs beautifully with Strawberry Slush.
Of course, I had to do a little something to the inside, too.
I sat outside on the front porch for a few minutes whilst I was photographing my cards. It is such a sun trap there and is wonderful at this time of the year. I must admit, it felt REALLY good to have some sun on my face and feel some warmth from it. In fact, I was sitting there thinking how great it is that the snow is melting and that we would soon be seeing some green….and… what was this that I saw… sorry about the photograph – the camera decided to focus on what was in the foreground instead…
See… behind the grasses… in the middle of the photograph… GREEN. Yes, there really is a plant coming up from the cold, frozen earth :-) Now, I know, for sure, that spring is definitely on her way!

Such a cheerful, spring card. And the embossed Hello sets it off perfectly. The simplicity of it is all the more appealing. So glad you can see some green. We are seeing lots of it, so much so that grass cutting will be twice this week.

Looks like you’re finally getting that first touch of Spring.
We will be mowing our yard for the 3rd time already and now that Spring is here and the weather in the 70’s and 80’s, I really have been busy working outside. Oh, and my onions; growing by leaps and bounds. Have irises blooming as well and then there are the weeds that are growing faster than anything else. I gotta do what I can outside before the rain moves in again this week end. Need the rain but I would much rather be working outside.
