Happy Sunday. Again!
I saw this great challenge across at The Card Concept and knew I had to play along. The array of stamps in the inspiration photo reminded me of the great set from The Greetery called Pretty Postmarks. I do miss the days of writing postcards and letters from exotic places – now we just send emails or messages on our phone or social media accounts. There was something wonderful about hearing the opening of the letter box in the morning and that watching letters come through it onto the inside mat. Yep, in England that's how mail is still delivered! So, this challenge made me a little nostalgic for the simpler days!

And here is the inspiration photo from The Card Concept. I did pretty much keep to the colors, except I added a little blue as it was a color that popped from some of the stamps.
I used a soft grey for the layers surrounding the white. I know it doesn't look grey, but it is the perfect shade of greige. One that I would have loved to have found when we repainting our old house :-) I popped some of the stamps up with foam tape and did the same with the "franked" circle. The scripty background is two of the stamps from the same Pretty Postmarks set. I just love this set!

Beautiful thoughts about the mail . . . when I turned 21 I was in White Plains, New York attending some IBM training . . . a long, long time ago!!! My boss had written to my temporary boss in White Plains telling him how important it was for me my birthday . . . and I was becoming an adult. The girls organized a surprise party for me . . . everybody knew about it . . . but me!! I received 150 pound of “male” . . . he had offered to deliver all the cards I had received in the mail. Happy souvenirs!!!!! Thank you, Jaydee . . . your card is proof of those days.
