Warm and Wonderful for Freshly Made Sketches #556

Happy Saturday

I got to play in my craft room today (trying to stay warm!) and went looking for some inspiration.  I saw a great sketch across at Freshly Made Sketches and knew that I would pull out the Warm and Wonderful stamp set from The Greetery.  Oh and, of course, I had to use my favorite Knit Wits stencil and paired it with the Crimped Circles die.  Here's a little sneak peek:

Those little hearts on that stencil… well, I just can't resist them!   I can honestly say that I am not a fan of pumpkin anything – yep, I know.  Look, I took the Oath of Allegiance to defend this country, but I didn't swear to liking pumpkin pie and peanut butter and jelly on anything :-)  I have no idea why, but pumpkin and me are just not that close :-)  However, I do love butternut squash, kabocha squash and many other squashes.  So, I think you can tell that a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is never on my order list, but I know lots of people who love them!  So, this card is for those of you who love a little PSL at this time of year!

Here's the FMS sketch:

I started by stamping and then die-cutting the elements for my card.  I used two of the Crimped Circle dies and layered them on top of each other, blending some orange ink to make them look a little richer.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, added the hearts behind the focal element and arranged the card.  Pretty simple, really.  Cajun Craze was the best color that I tried and I decided against patterned paper for the horizontal element as they really detracted from the Pumpkin Spice Latte.  So, the Knit Wits stencil was used to create that element instead.

Here's my full card:

I do love this stamp set and can't wait to use it for some winter themed cards.   I just love peppermint bark brittle and a good cappuccino 🙂

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee

  1. I love the Fall colors on this pretty card! And I love how you stenciled one of the layers of the sketch — clever, and it really makes the focal image stand out. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

  2. Such a wonderful card! Here in New Zealand, pumpkin is a vegetable and nothing else, so the idea of drinking it or eating it in a pie does not sound at all pleasant :). Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
