Quatrefancy Four You – for Casestudy

Hi Everyone.

Happy Independence day.   I hope you have all had a wonderful day spent celebrating with friends and family.   We spent a quiet day ….. well, I did.   Lou spent the afternoon painting!   One day he really will be finished painting 🙂

I saw the challenge across at casestudy this week – very bright colors, lots of pattern and butterflies.   I knew that I wanted to pick up on the butterflies and the bright colors, but was a little stumped for a while.  Then I had the brainwave to use the Quatrefancy DSP and combine it with the Hello stamp from Four You.   The paper picks up the blues, yellows and reddish color from the inspiration card.  I also used my two SU butterfly punches to make a double layered butterfly.

Here's my card:

Casestudy 148 (1 of 1)
I love that the DSP echoes the bright colors from the inspiration card.   To make the sentiment pop, I stamped it with versamark and then heat set black embossing powder.

I punched the two butterflies, the larger one from the quatrefancy DSP and the smaller one from Daffodil Delight card stock.   I used a Copic marker to outline the edges of both butterflies and then stuck them together down the middle.   I used a cut up dimensional to raise the wings on both sides of the little butterfly and did the same when I stuck the larger butterfly to the sentiment layer.  This helps to keep them lifted, even when the card goes through the mail.    I finished off the butterflies with a single black pearl to tie it with the sentiment.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card and some photo updates for the garden.  Things have certainly changed a lot on the last couple of days!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by my neck of the stamping woods.   Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.   If you are traveling – travel safe.

Hugs

Jaydee

  2. Very pretty, Jaydee! Isn’t color awesome! I’m glad you are feeling better! I, with my neice, went to Arkansas to visit my daughter and her husband for the 4th of July! So nice to see them!

  3. Quatrefancy is such an intriguing paper, isn’t it, and I love the yummy colors. Bless Lou’s heart, I bet he’s gonna be an artist in his next life! (My honey paints for me, too, and I really appreciate it). Hope you are getting stronger every day!

  4. I am IN LOVE with that DSP and the stamp set! I love the bold, bright colors, and what you have done with the card. Oh how I adore yellow! :o)
Lou, you poor thing, will you EVER be finished painting…? :oP I’m the painter in our house, and I often take a wild hair and before I know it I’m into gallons of paint and trying to keep small children OUT of it. :oP
    Hugs!

  5. This is so pretty! Very colorful and perfect for the CASE Study challenge. Thanks for playing along!
