Rose Red Blossoms

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday night.

I still haven't gotten to make a card this week.  I swear, I'm having such withdrawal symptoms, I'm going crazy!

This was a card I made for the cleanandsimplestamping ftl84.  It's such a cool layout and I was drawn to using a set that is new to me, but may be very old to some of you.  This was a hostess set back in the mid-2000's I believe.  I saw a sample made with it on splitcoast and decided I absolutely had to have it!  It wasn't so easy tracking down a long retired set, but I found a brand new one and quickly made it clear mount 🙂

I hope you have had a chance to look at the new color collections and see how the colors have been moved around a little, and seen the new ones. You can see the details, including the color samples in this post.  I swear, no kidding, I have been dreaming about using Daffodil Delight.  I cannot wait to get my hands on that and Marina Mist!  How sad is that :-)  However, I will be stocking up on Orchid Opulence and Mellow Moss 🙂

I really love the clean and simple lines and Cherie, I think you will like this one 🙂

I haven't heard from a couple of you in a few days, so hope that you are all doing OK.  Lynn, Germaine, Cam, Alison – I hope you are all doing alright.  I know that Adelle is traveling and I hope she is having lots of fun.  Of course, it's always great to hear from Trish when she is well enough to share a little time with us.

So on to tonight's card.

Ftl84

Well, old-mother winter hasn't let go just yet.  I couldn't understand why the junco's were still hanging around and hadn't gone North….. mmmm… well… now I know.  I can't wait for the end of May when our Farmer's Market opens in earnest.  This winter we bought three market baskets from my dear friend Beverly, who is a Longaberger consultant.  I don't know, there is something just so wonderful about going to the market on Saturday with a gorgeous basket, a pretty lining and filling it from the stands with fresh, fragrant veges.  Maybe it's just me…but it really gives me a thrill.  Now, I can't wait to use them.  I might take a pick and show you them the first time we get to use them at the market. :-)  They really are fabulous.  We've been using them at our local store, but it just doesn't quite feel the same 🙂

This is the 5th week in a row that Lou has been traveling, and considering the hours that I have been working, plus trying to do the books for the entire year of 2009 of Lou's business…. it's been a little chaotic around here and I think I am starting to go a little stir crazy.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday.  You know that your visits – and your comments (hint, hint :-)) are always much appreciated and are what keep me doing this every night.

I hope you get to spend a weekend enjoying the things you love, with those that you love.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Hi Jaydee and Followers, I don’t think that I have ever seen this Stamp Set before. It is really pretty, especially in the colors that you picked. I really like the card that you made, simple and yet enough that it speaks volumes.
I too, will try to purchase what Orchid Opulence and Mellow Moss that I can afford, but now I know where to come when I run out and need more. lol I am still sad that we really do not have a light purple or lavender in the New Mix, but maybe there will be one in the New In-Colors. Wish, wish, wish, still wishing, and wishing and hoping still. Perhaps if I close my eyes squeeze them tight enough and try really, really hard, it will happen. lol. What do you think? I must, just simply must, have a light purple. My life is not complete without it. I too an loving the Daffodil Delight along with Tangerine Tango, I always liked that color. I am sad that we will not have Sky Blue, oh well, we can’t have it all or we would still want more. I still cant be Cardmaking or Crafting because I can’t lift my right arm high enough, but I start Physical Therapy next week to hopefully improve this quickly. Jaydee, May you always be blessed my friend. I know that I owe you and a few other people an email. They are all coming soon. It takes awhile to type with only one hand.
    Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin

  2. Oh Jaydee, I have been pretty down with all my health issues and not being able to use my hands…but I am hanging in there, making the best of life has to offer! and I love this card of yours, I do have the stamp set and need a card soon, so I will simply case this one! TFS and thank you for thinking of me! I wish we lived near so we could have a ball stamping!! Hugs always! G

  3. Hi Jaydee…poor girl home alone! You keep so busy that you amaze me. I don’t know how you get all that energy.
I love this card..so simple but so striking. I remember this set too. I do not have it in my room full of stamps though. I am so glad SU is carrying clear mount stamps…(sigh) I was truly running out of room. I would sell my old sets… but afterwards wish I hadn’t.(sob) I buy them because I like them so why would sell them , right? Well, I was trying to make room for new. Not no more. I will make room for new some other way.
I am going to miss Mellow Moss too. It just goes well with so many colors. Honestly, I have not heard anyone complain that they are getting rid of Apricot Appeal. I love this color!!!! It is so Spring like. I have been using it alot lately. I’m with you Trish, they need more lavender colors. I think we could have done without Pretty in Pink since they kept Pink Pirquette ( a great pink I must say). Other then that I am so excited about the new colors. Change is not a bad thing..it is so inspiring.
With all your ideas racing in your head Jaydee…I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH!
Have a great day and weekend (if I don’t get back here to wish you that).
    Hugs
    Yvonne
PS I finally used your chalkboard technique yesterday and loved it. I have never done this one before ..Thanks for the lesson. You are right, it is so relaxing!
PSS Trish I am glad to see you on Jaydee blog. Wishing you the best recovery ever! Yvonne

  4. What a beautiful card! I like the layout, it seems to be one that could really be quite simple to do.
Trish–hats off to you for typing with one hand. That has to take a long time! You will be improving as you do the physical therapy I am sure. It is amazing how the body can heal.
Jaydee-I hope you have a fabulous day/weekend. Thank you for taking time from your busyness to share with us all!

  5. So pretty Jaydee! What is the name of this stamp set? I don’t think I have it either!
Trish- so glad to see you commenting! I appreciate you answering my question the other day! Hope you get better soon! I’m sure therapy will help alot!
Germaine- hope you get better soon as well!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  6. Hi there! I’ve been lurking for a while, but thought I would pop in and say “hi”. :o)
I LOVE this card (and all the others you post as well). The lines are so clean and the color so cheerful. :o)
I too am looking forward to getting my hands on the Daffodil Delight, and I must say, once I got over the shock of the color change, I’m REALLY excited! I’m bummed about Mellow Moss and Cameo Coral, but know I’ll get over it when I get back all those fabulous In Colors. :o)
As for your Farmers’ Market, I don’t blame you one bit! That is our most favorite Saturday morning activity. We are blessed, living here in Williamsburg, Va, that our FM opens the first weekend in April and runs through the end of October, so we have lots of shopping time. :o)
I LOVE the Longeberger Market basket and can’t think of anything better to use at the FM. Hang in there, you’ll be using them before you know it!

  7. Yes I do love those pearls. I remeber this set too! Didn’t get it!!! Beautiful card. Glad to hear your taxes are done and now you an conentrate on stamping. It’s been hard to be without a computer this week-a little withrawl! Hello to everyone.

  8. Well is this a Thank Goodness the Week is Over post or what?! (or maybe it’s the free shot Friday at JavaDetour talking to me!) Jaydee–what a fresh card, it’s making me want to go check on my lilac bushes to see how much longer I have to wait to enjoy them. And yes, you know me well, I love the CAS (creative and sensational)look. Sometime I’ll have to share with you my love of polka dots and why they make me smile.
I loved reading everyone’s favorite old and new colors, it’s awesome that we all have such different tastes, life would be pretty boring otherwise. For me I’ll miss Pink Passion and Green Galore. But I’m beyond thrilled that Wild Wasbi is back (but where is my Kiwi Kiss?) and I’m excited to use Early Expresso and Cherry Cobbler.
I guess that’s enough for today–better get back to my 7 boy day (ages 6 mos to 4 yrs!). Trish keep up the awesome attitude and Welcome to the group Rach! Hope you ALL have a great weekend :0)
