SimonSaysStamps Best-Teas for Time Out #295

Happy Thursday.

So, Time Out did it again! A photo inspiration I couldn’t resist. I mean a cup of coffee, a pastry, a warm sunny day and a gorgeous backdrop – who wouldn’t be inspired by that. So, I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for last month and the Best-Teas stamp set.

I couldn’t replicate in any way or fashion that gorgeous backdrop from the inspiration photo, so I used an embossing folder for texture instead.

Here’s my card:

I suppose you’d like to see the inspiration photo? Here’s the challenge badge from Time Out:

I know the talented team at Time Out would love it if you played along and you have until August 27th to play.

On a personal note:

Well, I was sitting in the garden practicing my coloring on a gorgeous day. It was in the 70s, low humidity and just a hint of a breeze that occasionally ruffled the leaves on the trees. I heard the slightest noise and looked up to find this:

Mama deer wasn’t quite sure about me. She sat and watched me for a few seconds, decided I must be OK and went about her business of eating the foliage. So long as she was OK, the babies were quite content to go about their day!

As for my new blog, I am still getting used to the editor and think it will take me a little while longer. I’m so used to the typepad editor – having used it for nearly 16 years, that this feels a little strange. I suppose that means that I should blog more regularly and get some practice 🙂

I’ll be back tomorrow with my Festive Friday card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

Stamps: Best-Teas – Simon Says Stamp

Embossing folder: Demilune – Simon Says Stamp

  1. What a great image you had to use for our challenge! Wouldn’t it be nice to have a special, relaxing breakfast/afternoon treat every day? I love your emobssing folder too. Thanks For this card for our Time Out Challenge!

    1. Thanks, Carol. I just thought the tea set with the pastries was a great fit for that fabulous photo!

    1. Jenn, well, you knew that I wasn’t going to be able to ignore that invitation. WOW. We had coyotes and foxes come by regularly in our old house. Bear only once and the only reason I knew he’d been there is that he/she had bent the bird feeder 45 degrees – and that was some solid steel! How amazing that you have so much wildlife on the doorstep. Off to check it out! hugs, Jaydee

  2. Congrats Jaydee on (deservedly) being our top pick for Challenge #296 at Time Out Challenges! If you haven’t already, check out the Time Out Blog for details on how to claim your prize and I do hope you can join us as our guest in a future challenge! Hugs, Kate (DT Time Out)!

    1. Kate, thank you so much to you and the team. I loved playing with the photo challenge and am thrilled to be the top pick!
