Hi Everyone.
If you are looking for a comparison of the New In Colors with our existing colors, where you can check out Lucky Limeade against Old Olive, etc. – you can check out this post.
Of course, I couldn't NOT play with my new goodies.
I LOVED this new set the minute I saw it. It's one of the new hostess choices and it was a definite must have for me.
I also looked at this new letterpress plate and fell instantly in love.
So…. I combined my new favorite stamp, with my new favorite letterpress plate, added some much loved retired ribbon, some inks, a little water color paper, a current sentiment, and….. VOILA!
oh… yeah… and I had to color a couple of the Basic Pearls, too!
Now…if you are wondering about the green card stock – you might notice it doesn't quite look like Old Olive. The piece behind the pear is a crisp limish green – yep, that's the new In Color – Lucky Limeade. I added it as the card base, too, but decided I wanted to tone it down just a little against the Soft Suede. I took my tea stain ink and rubbed it from the outside to the inside on the Lucky Limeade base to soften the look a little.
The watercolor paper was the perfect choice for the image. I really do love this new set. I think you will be seeing a lot of it. It can be fabulously clean and simple, or a little more layered. Either way, it really holds its own.
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
- Card stock: Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Watercolor
- Stamps: Faith in Nature (available in the 2011-2012 catalog available July 1)
- Sentiment: Notably Ornate – available in the current and new catties
- Ink: Sentiment – Early Espresso. Pear – copics. Fancy Fan – versamark
- Accessories: Retired Old Olive taffeta. Basic Pearls.
- Tools: Big Shot. Fancy Fan Letterpress plate (available July 1)
I inked up the Fancy Fan Letterpress plate with Versamark. It gave a tone on tone effect and, because the ink is sticky, it works really well with the plates.
Now, I am off back to play with my new goodies! It really does feel like it's my birthday!
Prayers for those who need a little lift, or a warm hug. Many thanks to Brenda for a wonderful break this morning. It meant a great deal to me, my friend. Thank you!
As always, thank you for visiting my blog. Your visits – and your comments are much appreciated. If you have any questions, don't forget to just leave me a message.
Hugs
Jaydee

Man – I wish I’d placed an order yesterday so I’d at least have the satisfaction of knowing my order was on its way but I’m holding off. However, I love what you did with the letterpress plate!
