I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I know we did 🙂
It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful Tic Tac Toe for us:
I thought about the various options and finally decided to go with "snowflake", "sparkle" and "die-cut". I remembered I had a snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp that I bought last year and hadn't used. It's a fabulous die and I paired it with some Stampin' Up! Silver Glimmer paper. The glimmer paper is perfect for die-cuts and really created a very pretty snowflake. So… in one die-cute I had covered all three requriements; die-cut, snowflake and sparkle! However, that wasn't quite enough for me… I wanted to create a snowy background for my snowflake and used my new Fun Stampers Journey Bubble Bubble stencil and some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste.

I thought you might need a close up of the embossing paste background with the fabulous snowflake because you don't get a real feel of it from the overall photograph. Here you can see the dimension from the embossing paste – as well as the sparkle of the snowflake:

On a personal note:
It has been wonderful to have a couple of days away from work. Time to just spend relaxing, crafting and decorating the house for Christmas. Lou and I spent Thanksgiving celebrating our 20th anniversary. Well… it's 20 years since the first day we began living together. It seems like yesterday – and yet – it is two decades. We were both so much younger then and it makes me smile to think about it. So much has happened to us in those 20 years. We have seen so much and been to so many places and experienced so many things. It was wonderful to just spend the day enjoying each other. 🙂
I did get to spend some time in my crafting space and I did managed to get some Christmas cards made and am hoping to finish those up tomorrow.
It looks as though we might be finished with the inside and outside decorations just in time for the BIG snowfall of the saeson. We have about an inch of snow on the ground, but are in a Winter Storm Watch for something between 7-10 inches on Monday/Tuesday. Although I have been fighting the arrival winter, I must admit, I love to experience the first real snowfall of the season, so am hoping that the storm doesn't bypass us 🙂

Isn't he just so beautiful? Especially with the red/rust of the oak leaves. I love the fact that the oak tree retains its leaves throughout winter.
And… I am going to tease you with a photo of another piece of wildife – no… not Charlie… the "thing" on our chair :-) I'll share the secret of "that" later in the week.

The card is fun and I like the sparkle and contract with the paste! What I really like is the woodpecker picture!! Goodness girl but you are so good with the camera!! Have you ever taken these pictures and made cards out them? I have done some since I have a heavy duty printer and am beginning to get a card style that I like. I don’t do the photography but I have a friend who does so I give her credit on the back of the card. You have some amazing pictures. Love your sentiment with the snowflake.
