Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous LeAnne’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. I decided to continue the baking theme from earlier in the week and whisked out (sorry. not sorry. about the pun!) the Magic Mixer dies from Spellbinders. Once again I had to pair this set with the fabulous Confections Companions embossing folder.
Here’s a sneak peek:

We know from last week’s Paper Players challenge that Christy Stanford is not afraid of raw cookie dough:-). So this one is for you, Christy!
I die-cut and assembled all the elements. I embossed and die-cut the panel (did I say I was obsessed with the amazing detail on this embossing folder!?). I needed a circular element to match the sketch, so I used a piece of vellum and my SU Spotlight on Nature dies to create that.
Once again this sketch has far more layers than I would normally use, but I had to fun creating the different layers for the card!
Here’s my full card. BTW – can we talk about that eletrical cord?! Just love it!

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Lou and I have signed off on our next house project – the master bathroom. Our contractor is so busy (as are all the good contractors around town!) that we won’t be able to start until October! In the meantime, we have to just sit and wait! In the meantime we have decided to do work on the laundry and get that fixed up and looking better. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but the laundry is the room that we walk past multiple times a day as it is right next to our family room. So, it just has to be prettied up :-). My craft room is almost complete. It just needs a finish coat on the wooden tops and the trim and door painted. Once that’s complete, the room will be done. I must admit, I am loving the bright and cheerful color instead of the dull cool white it was when we moved in.
I now have oodles of good storage for the few (cough. cough.) supplies that I have. (Look, it’s not my fault that these wonderful new goodies keep finding their way into boxes and arriving on the doorstep!) Everything has a place and everything is in it’s placed. It’s all labeled, of course! and most of the time I can find what I’m looking for:-). The only thing I havven’t found yet is that perfect crafting chair/stool. The hunt is still on for that.
As for the outside. All the plants that we planted at the end of last year have come back. One thing that hasn’t come back for many weeks is the deer! We have no idea where they have gone. We used to see them several times a week and last year we were visited by the moms and their babies. This year. NOTHING! It’s so odd. We did have a lone turkey walk through the garden yesterday, but that’s pretty much about all that we have seen. So, sadly, I can’t post photos of any of our visitors!
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Magic Mixer – Spellbinders
- Embossing Folder: Confection Companions – Spellbinders

Well, I am loving all your baking/cooking-themed projects, Jaydee! This one does not disappoint either! SO cute, especially with that fun mixer and wonderful embossing folder! I actually have a mixer that color, sans the pink! It makes mixing so much more fun! Great punny sentiment too!
Haha, I love it! Super fun colors on the mixer and such a fun card. That embossing folder is so cool, too! My kiddo only helps bake until he gets to lick the beaters, he is also not afraid of raw cookie dough 😁 Have a fantastic week!
Oh my, this is wonderful! I love the card, the baking elements, I love to bake too just not under a chaotic schedule. The mixer cord is definitely great, I love that they added the small details – so much fun.
This is super! The colours you’ve chosen are lovely – I wish that my mixer was those colours too. They stand out so well against the white background with the adorable embossed panel. Great use of the sketch and a wonderful card. 🙂
All the baking elements are super cute (agree about the electric cord, what a great touch) and the punny sentiment is just fabulous! I love how you use the sketch to show off all the different dies. Love this, Jaydee!
I am just loving these die/EF combos Jaydee – this set is so fun and the punny sentiment the perfect finishing touch. I’m sure it took time to put together, but so worth it!!
Jaydee! Your baking and food cards are blowing me away! I LOVE them all. These die cuts, paired with the yummy embossing folder and punny sentiment, have a somewhat retro vibe that I adore, especially in these colors. I have said it before, and I will say it again, you have the best collection of dies. It’s another fabulous card you have created! I love hearing about your remodeling projects. They are much more exciting than the things we are doing here. lol Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
Jaydee, this is just shouts FUN! Makes me want to make some cookies! I do have a mixer that color! I love the embossing folder, the mixer and the little electric plug in! You do have the best dies! Your take on the sketch is just fabulous! I can’t wait to see all your house projects. Have a wonderful weekend, My Friend!!
