Happy Thursday.
We have another fabulous challenge for you across at Time Out this week. The great thing about challenges is that they force me to do things I don’t normally do – like create a shaker card with sheer windows! I brought out a couple of old sets to make this card. One of them is the Underwater Marine Life dies and the other is Spellbinders Underwater Tunnel dies. I paired them with a sentiment from the Waffle Flower collection called Coastal Greetings.
Here’s a sneak peek:

I also brought out some very old shaker bits that I have been saving for a couple of years. I needed some “sandy” type of bits, so I added some glitter from Tim Holtz.
Our challenge this week is kindly sponsored by UNIKO. They are generously offering a $25.00 gift certificate to the online store for the winner of our challenge this week. So, it’s a great incentive to play along 🙂
We are also joined by a very talented stamper who is our guest designer for this challenge. Verena’s cards a simply beautiful and the one she made for our challenge is no exception. I do hope you will pop along and visit her blog Simple Stamper, you will definitely be inspired.
Here’s our challenge for this week:

My card has more layers and elements han I would normally use! I began with three die-cuts from three different shades of turquoise and green to create the underwater tunnel. I pulled out a piece of very old patterned paper from Stampin’ Up! that I have been saving for many years. It was perfect as the backdrop for my underwater scene.
I wanted the entire front of the card to be transparent, so the tunnels are the same on the outside as they are on the inside of the front. That way regardless of whether you are looking from the outside, or the inside, you see the same.
I cut a piece of acetate and put that between the layers of the underwater tunnel. I then popped them up and filled the internal area with the shaker bits. I kept one fish, two rocks and some seaweed to dress up the outside of my card. All that was left to do was to add the die-cut sentiment.
Here’s my full card:

I do hope you will join us and play along with our challenge. We would love to see how you are INSPIRED by the clear element.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Underwater Tunnel – Spellbinders. Underwater Marine Life – Spellbinders
- Sentiment: Coastal Greetings – Waffle Flower

This is so fun and detailed! Great job putting all the things together and leaving the front panel clear. Wow.
Jaydee, I love those underwater tunnel dies so much and you have created such a beautiful setting for the fish and shaker bits! Your colors are so pretty and that sentiment is just perfect! What a great card for our clear theme!!!
What a wonderful shaker! The tunnel dies really make for a great ocean scene!
I have loved seeing cards using those tunnel dies but they intimidate me. You used them to make the most wonderful underwater scene, Jaydee, and I applaud you for all the details that went into it.
Tunnel cards are so much fun! Your underwater scene with all the shaker elements is beautiful! 🙂
Wow, Love your tunnel shaker card… It is so cute with shaker elements and all the sea creatures. Love it. Hugsxx

Absolutely wonderful shaker card! I love the depth and interest. Gorgeous bling too!
I just love everything about this card, Jaydee. Anything”sea” is always a favorite for me. Love the underwater tunnel and all of the die cuts in your underwater scene. I had to chuckle a little because I have those same shaker bits left unused for a very long time… Maybe I should follow your lead and open them up and use them! I really love this card!
Wow! I absolutely love this card and the depth you created here! Amazing!
