I am finally on vacation. Oh yeah…. We have all sorts of things planned for the next week and a half, not least of which is spring cleaning. Of course, I absolutely intend to get into my stamping room. Cherie, Lou is hoping to get out on baby… but not if it's too windy, too sunny, in the slightest bit humid, dusty, or there is one cloud in the sky :-) "Baby" is one of Lou's bicycles and he mother's this darn bike like I do my favorite stamps – except my stamps get more use:-)
Speaking of Lou… this was the card that I made for him. Strawberries are a big thing for us – long story! Anyway, I wanted to try to incorporate strawberries into a card, without using my strawberry stamp from the Tart and Tangy set, cos I've already done that card for him. So, I thought about a strawberry vine and strawberries and this is what I came up with
As you can see, I used Real Red and Cherry Cobbler for the strawberries because every punnet of strawberries I buy seems to have different shades of red. I also used Cobbler for the background. You can see that it is a much deeper, richer red than the Real Red. So… that's how the title came to be…. Strawberry Cobbler… and I bet you were all reading the title and thinking…. she's forgotten the name of the new color:-)
I stamped the vine using a stamp from the Thoughts & Prayers set in classic Basic Black Ink. I punched the hearts using Real Red and Cherry Cobbler paper. I used the small heart from the Heart to Heart punch. They were just the right size for this stamp.
The "Love" sentiment, was stamped in Real Red… I would have stamped it in Cherry Cobbler… but… as you know…. we don't have access to that yet. Will June 1 hurry up and get here! The sentiment is from the Fundamental Phrases set. I'm hoping we get some great new Love/Valentine sets in the new catty! So, there you are a quick and easy card.
Lou has asked me to say thank you to all of you for all your wishes and thoughts. He really does check in every day to see how you are all doing!
We are off to movies tonight to see Letters to Juliet. A romantic movie to kick off the weekend. One of the reasons we wanted to see this movie is that it is set in Verona, Italy. Lou and I got married in Verona – well, actually just a little outside of Verona. So, very appropriate for us!

Welcome home Lou. Such a cute, creative card. It made me smile. I just know that Lou loved it, who wouldn’t. Those hearts are just so cute on that vine. Yes, I can certainly see the difference between the two reds when you show them like this. I think they look quite good used together. I always enjoyed Spring Cleaning, and now that I cannot do it anymore, miss it terribly. I know, I am strange.lol. I hope you get a lot accomplished together. Remember not to make this Vacation all about work and no play time. The movie sounds wonderful. I spent an entire summer in Italy when I was a child. I did love it so, the weather was beautiful and they had the most fabulous peaches that I could pick right from the tree. The biggest, juiciest ones I have ever come across. Oh, the memories, the next summer we spent in France, and then in Switzerland. Enough about me. I hope Everyone has a great weekend, those that are sick do not suffer and All are Blessed.
