Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week – and it's a fun theme! The theme inspired me to bring out an old stamp set from Alexandra Renke and pair it with a brand new stencil called Two Step Chevron from Waffle Flower.
Here's a sneak peek:
Oh and here's the theme!
So, my something old was the tea themed stamp set from Alexandra Renke. I stamped the background image of rosehips and then stamped and fussy cut the teapot and mug. The little teabag was a die, so I cut that out and then colored it with a Copic marker. I colored the teacup and teapot with a green Copic marker.
For the background I used green and blue inks and the Two Step Chevron Stencil. I wanted to show just a small fraction of the chevron, so kept the focal layer a little larger than normal and framed it with a frame from Waffle Flower die cut in a pale blue. The sentiment is from a set from The Greetery called Brew-tiful Day.
Here's my card:
Now, I am a tea drinker. Hey, I was born a Brit, what do you expect :-). I like my tea, strong and dark so, of course, the teabag was colored nice and dark! I am not into fragrant teas, herbal teas, green teas, white teas…. just give me a good strong cup of black tea with a little milk and I'm a happy and contented camper!
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, we have the outdoor furniture, but the weather has still not been good enough to sit out on it! However, today is supposed to get to 72 – so guess where I will be?!
We can so tell that Spring is here – the chickadees are nesting, the juncos have left and are now in the northern part of Minnesota where they will spend the summer and nest. The Cardinals are in courting mode – caught the male feeding the female this week – always a good sign. And, very soon, we are expecting an explosion of cottontails!
Overnight the outdoors changed from the slightest, tiniest hint of green, to green buds sprouting all over! All it needed was some good rains and a couple of mildly warm days for everything to change. As this is our first spring and summer in the new house, we are really looking forward to seeing the changing scenery out of the window. After the Memorial Day weekend we will be planting some plants, shrubs and trees. All to provide food and shelter for the local fauna and avi-fauna. Oh, and for our enjoyment, too! 🙂
This week I managed to spend time in my craft room, sorting out the goodies I received from my Crafty Goody box from Jennifer McGuire and will spend some time tomorrow playing with the goodies. I'll be back later in the week with a card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

My word, I didn’t even realise that you’d stencilled that lovely design until I read the notes – I thought it was DSP! Love the frame effect too. Have a happy week. 🙂
Jaydee, this chevron background is fabulous! I love the blue and green combo. The little teapot made me think of the song–“I’m a Little Teapot!” Are you singing now? Such a sweet card to make someone smile!
So glad your weather is finally Spring like. I hope you can enjoy the outdoor furniture soon!
What a sweet card! Love your little teapot, but the subtle stamping behind it really caught my eye! Love your old and new!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card, Jaydee! I am a fellow tea drinker, so this image and sentiment spoke to my heart. The colors are beautiful. The chevron stenciling is lovely. I really need to learn how to stencil. I think that every time I see your amazing stenciling work.
I’m loving the chevron background Jaydee – but that teapot! Clearly a tea-drinker after my own heart – that’s how I drink my tea too! Love it!
Love your “tea card” – I like both coffee and tea. Although I do like herbal teas. My favorite is, Earl Grey though. – The colors on your card are so pretty and I like the little berries stamped behind the main images.
