Technique Tuesday: Custom Coloring Basic Pearls

Hi Everyone.  Happy Tuesday night.

Hope you are all having a great week so far….me… well, I am still trying to get back into the rhythm of work – not too successfully, I might add.  And, also trying to deal with all the things that happened whilst we were away – more on those later this week!

Tonight's technique Tuesday quick tip video is on custom coloring the Stampin' Up! Basic Pearls.  I love these pearls.  They are a great value and you all know that I love me my pearls!

Double click on the curtain below and it should take you to my gallery and directly to the video.  I still haven't had the chance to connect with Apple to work out the problem that some of you are having.  I won't get the chance to do that until this weekend.

Adelle, I got your comment about doing a video on the Circle Scissors Plus – I will definitely add that to the list.  Let me know if there are any others you would like me to put in the hopper.

Now… you can see that I am using a more expensive alcohol based marker to dye the pearls, however, most of us have plain old Sharpie's lying around the house and they work well, too!

On a personal note:  It was phenomenal to get away and just switch off.  Having two weeks non-disrupted time away with my hunny is something pretty rare.  Especially as he got back from a nearly 3 week trip a couple of days before we left – and left on a two week trip the day after we got back!  So, the time that we do get to spend together to regenerate is really important.

We sailed across the Atlantic from Southampton, England to Miami, Florida.  It was an incredibly smooth and peaceful crossing.  We had 4 days doing tours in France, Spain and Portugal – but the rest of the time was spent relaxing on the sea.  There's something amazing about being lulled to sleep with the movement of the ship.

I'll be sharing some photos and stories over the next couple of weeks, but wanted to share this one with you first.  This one is for Ann.  Most of you will know Ann from her comments and her fabulous creations as a member of the Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts design teams.  Ann is a fellow SU demo and just all around fabulous person.  Recently, she adopted two wonderful boxer puppies and one of them – her female, Muffy, had an accident with her ears.  Consequently, she had to have them operated on.  Imagine my face when Lou and I arrived at our first hotel in the New Forest in England…and found that the hotel mascot had a little appendage:-)  Ann… I thought about you and Muffy.  Here's the pic just for you.  Thank you for being such a wonderful supporter of my blog – and a wonderful person!

The hotel was a little boutique hotel and it was fabulous.  We had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant and then went for a walk down the country lanes into the new forest.  It was dark and misty and cold and atmospheric.  I swear, it was almost Hound of the Baskervilles-ish – but in a good way.  The skies were clear and the stars were so bright with so little light from the surrounding villages.  We only had one night there, but it was very memorable.

Prayers tonight for Beth's MIL Delores.  Beth, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family on your loss.  Continued prayers for Germaine (we haven't heard from you in a while, my friend, I hope you are OK).  For Arthur's recovery after his surgery.  For T and Pri.  For Mom Rose who gets to hear tomorrow how much – and how long – her treatment will be.  For those of you who need a lift.

Have a fabulous Wednesday and remember… smile at a stranger… you never know, it may change their life.

Hugs

Jaydee

  5. Thank You Jaydee–you have perfect timing as always; I just received my basic pearls today! I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to order them especially after seeing all of the amazing things you’ve done with them.
Can’t wait to hear and see more about your trip. I’m envious of your time spent alone with Lou. Now, wait a minute, that didn’t come out the way it was supposed to! 😀 Let’s try it again, I am envious of your two weeks spent alone with your DH, it sounds like a dream.
Warm thoughts and prayers to all those in need, and a very Happy Hump Day to One & All.
