Textured Backgrounds for Freshly Made Sketches #402

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.  I saw this great sketch across at FreshlyMade…. way out of my comfort zone… but I was determined to see what I could do with it!

When I saw the horizontal element, I immediately thought of one of the dies in my new SU Texture Backgrounds set.  I hadn't used this die before and this seemed like the perfect time for it.   So, I had the horizontal element… now what?  I couldn't find a stamp that quite fit and then remembered I had some Altenew acetate butterflies and decided that would work perfectly.  I paired that with two butterflies from the SU Butterfly Gala stamped in a soft grey.  I popped the whole panel up on a soft grey card base.  I wanted to give the feeling of depth behind the cut outs and think they look more dramatic that way.

Here's a closeup of the cutouts:

I really love the dimension you get when you pop them off the base and the soft grey doesn't detract from them either.

Here's my full card:

While I was writing up this blog post, I had another idea for this sketch, so I am back off to my craft room to see if what is in my head is translatable to a card.  🙂

I might be back later!  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
