Hi Everyone. Happy Friday night
I don't have a card for you tonight….. so I thought I would share a couple of pictures with you and a little story of a cat who is too smart for his own good!
Bailey is our 17# Norwegian Forest Cat. He is, without a doubt, an absolutely gorgeous – actually he'd prefer HANDSOME – cat. Even people who don't like cats that come to our house rave about Bailey. Well, Bailey thinks he's very smart. He loves opening cupboard doors and taking things out and generally making a nuisance of himself.
He also LOVES – and I mean LOVES cardboard boxes (regardless of whether or not they are actually an appropriate size for him). His second favorite love? The brown paper that Stampin' Up! puts into their boxes. He unravels it and then uses it like a water slide.
So…. here's a picture of the gorg… I mean HANDSOME Bailey making an absolute nuisance of himself on my crafting table. Being a cat, of course, he has to sit right on top of everything.
Well, when I was cleaning house last week, I found a feather toy that we had bought months ago. I had put it in a drawer to keep it away from Bailey. (He eats the feathers!) I found it last week and decided I would let him and the others play with it whilst I was taking a quick break from housecleaning. Once I thought they had played enough, I put it in the drawer.
Mmmm… this morning Bailey had decided it was time to amuse himself – and the others – and had remembered the drawer that I had placed the toy in and this is what I found
Yep…. he had opened the corner cupboard door and then worked open the drawer – the one that contained the toy – no others mind you. He stands on his hind legs and he works to open the drawer from the side and then from the top. I love that he dangled the toy over the top of the drawer so that it gave them much more entertainment!
I closed up the drawer and cupboard door, putting away the toy. I was on a conference call early this morning and he opened the drawer again and had another play! So, I moved it to the bottom drawer. Ah. Ha! Me, no stupid. Me smarter than the average cat 🙂
As I was taking pictures of the kitchen drawer – I thought I should give you a peek of my wonderful, handsome, responsive, sensitive, good-looking RANGE! I LOVE MY INDUCTION RANGE. Can I shout that loud enough. I LOVE IT!!!!
Just looking at these pics makes me happy!
I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. I hope to get into my stamping space to do some crafting this weekend. If I can tear myself away from my range that is!
Prayers and hugs to those of you who need a little lift
hugs

LOLOLOLOL! That is one insanely clever handsome boy. What a cat! I’m still chuckling just thinking about him working that drawer open so he can play. :o)
As for that range– Ahhhh. That is one amazing range. I don’t think i would ever leave the kitchen. No, I’m serious. I can’t imagine how wonderful it must be to have such an amazing piece of equipment in the house. Wow.
Happy weekend! Get some rest. Enjoy a drink on the deck. :o)
Hugs!
What a clever handsome boy he is!!! I was chuckling as I read about his antics. And then I became slack-jawed when I saw your induction range. My husband and I were just dreaming about it the other day. Maybe some day!!! LOL Be sure to post how you like cooking with it – does it really boil water in a fraction of the time? Is it easy to keep clean? Does it really cool down quickly?
The range is almost as handsome as Bailey! No, they’re actually both drop-dead gorgeous, and both very smart, as well!
What a smart, smart cat! Isn’t it great to have pets that keep us on our toes! Thanks for sharing the story!
We have a smart grand kitty with an extra digit on both front paws, he opens stuff also, not drawers though. But he does try to turn door knobs and open them, and he DOES actually get to turn them a bit.
My cat(Pretty) and he(Caesar), as well as the grandkitty that no longer lives here LOVES the SU packing paper. That ‘Lil Maggie loves it the best, I used to keep it long, but scrunch it all tight like someone’s pony tail, then I would coil it up. She loved in and would crawl under and over and through the coils, spreading them but making them her little hiding fort.
The range looks cool, what is an induction range?

That is one genius of a cat. Also love your range.

Love the story of your Bailey…cats are pretty smart animals. He’s beautiful! My cats love the brown paper from SU packages, too. Especially my Little Miss. She plays around with it until she gets it where she wants it. Usually almost like a fort and then she gets inside and grabs your toes under the edge of the paper. She also makes little spots to lay on for her naps. Aren’t cats special???
Bailey is GORGEOUS!!!! (Actually, he’s very HANDSOME!) Beautiful cat and so funny about him opening the drawer, etc….You’ve got one smart cat!! Love your new stove too….

Beautiful cat! His coloring makes him seem to just blend into your walls. Cats are so smart. My son has two cats. Every time we leave the house and come back, every cabinet in the kitchen is open. Then the trick is to find the cat before he jumps out onto your back. Quite thrilling if he wins!
Love your new stove. I am green with envy. Sorry about your weather. Here we are enjoying weather in the 70’s when really it should be hot. I enjoy the beauty of cooler weather knowing that soon it will be hot here.
