Thursday thoughts and blog candy reminder

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday

Just wanted to remind you that there is a brand new set of Large Labels dies from Nestabilities up for grabs.  All you need to do is correctly guess the color of our dining room chairs.  Some of you have already made guesses – you can check them out at this post.  The colors of our chairs are one of the SU colors – and to make it even easier – are one of the colors of the 2010/2011 or 2011/2012 In Colors.  In case you are wondering what the Nestabilities dies look like – you can check them out right here

We looked at our schedule of things still to be done at the house today and we were astonished at how little there is still to do.  The appliances are being fitted right now.  The lights, countertops, backspash and fireplace tiles, doors, windows, plumbing, etc. are all done!  Tomorrow they do the final sand and sealing on the floors.  Monday through Wednesday next week final touch up of paint. The ONLY thing that needs to be done after that is cleaning, fireplace set up and window cleaning.  Then…. it's closing day!

It seems so amazing that 8 months ago we saw this lot

First view

Our next view in January was this…..

January

Then there was this…..

March

and then……well, I'm going to make you wait to see the finished front :-)   I promise, I will be taking a photo the minute we get out of the car to do the walk through on May 9th!  We are so excited.  I find it hard to believe that my father was a builder, my brother was a builder, my first husband was an architect – and this is the first house that either Lou or I have ever built.  Neither of us have built a house from scratch.  This is a first for both of us – and is therefore even more exciting.  We have really worked and saved so hard for this and we are so excited.  More than the house though…… it's the position and the view of the house that excites us the most.  Everytime we visit the house and see this……

View

we know it was worth it!

We really do want to thank all of you who have come along on this journey with us and who have expressed excitement for us.  THANK YOU!  You have heightened the pleasure for us!

We are steadily packing boxes and getting things closed up.  We have MORE people coming tomorrow to do little repairs on the house.  It's amazing how many little things need fixing.  After that, all that we need to do is have the new carpet laid and the airconditioning vents cleaned.   As we have cats, and know that so many people are so allergic to cats, we wanted to make sure that all the hair and dander was cleaned out of the house to make it easier for anyone coming in.  Which reminds me, the kitties need feeding!

Also….. I'd ask those of you with prayer lists to please add our vet to your prayer list.  Our vet is actually a couple – husband and wife – and they are both amazing in their own ways and both helped save Merlin's life.  The wife had a terrible riding accident this weekend and suffered traumatic brain injury.  She has been in intensive care all week and they were unsure whether she would be paralyzed.  It seems that she has been spared that, but has a very long and difficult recovery ahead of her.  She has helped so many people's animals, that a few extra prayers will not go unnoticed 🙂

As always, thank you so much to all of you for your visits.   Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Well, lets see about these dining room chairs. Hum, if I remember right (now it might be my brain at this age playing tricks on me) BUT how does … Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz or Poppy Parade. Is that right? bahahaha!
Alright I will get serious here …. Peach Parfait
Just to let you know I had this color in my bedroom years ago …. along with the color of your walls. Now another color could fit in there too (which is probably the right color and I am guessing wrong) and would be lovely.
Oh by the way, yes I own a Big Shot and also have the Big Shot Pro ….
    Have a great weekend!
Lou when all of this is finish you are going to send me a ticket to come and visit right?

  2. Such an exciting time for you and Lou! Your house looks wonderful!
I will pray for your vets. Rehab & doctors can do amazing things, prayer can do the miraculous!
    Have a good weekend!

  3. I am guessing Pool Party. Enjoy looking at the stages of building your new home. Love the surroundings, should be a very peaceful and serene setting, except for maybe a screeching owl, now and then.

  4. It’s been fun following the building your house!! The scenery is beautiful and I can’t wait to see the inside!! I’m guessing that your chairs are Pear Pizzazz. That color is gorgeous!
I have my first furbaby ever as of Thursday after work!! She is a Chihuahua, Poodle, Terrier mix and I just love her!! Only 8 weeks old! NOT potty trained. lol.
    Take Care.
