Happy Sunday.
It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. For my card I pulled out a relatively new set of dies from Waffle Flower called Floral Anchor.
Here’s a sneak peek:

Here’s the sketch for this week:

For the focal point I used some Stampin’ Up! silver metallic card stock to die-cut the anchor. I then used some colored cardstock to die-cut the florals. I did some ink blending on the florals to add a little interest and added some white highlights.
For the background I used a stencil that came as part of my supply from the Jennifer McGuire Crafty Box. It’s a stencil from Altenew called Dancing Drops. I used a light touch of turquoise for the background. The two panels were created using rectangle dies from MFT. To finish off the background I added some dark silver metallic splatters.
I stamped and die-cut the sentiment from the Waffle Flower Coastal Greetings set and added that to the card. I added some twine (aslo part of the Jennifer McGuire Crafty Box!), some enamel dots to the center of the flowers and some black dots around the center to finish off the card.

As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Floral Anchor – Waffle Flower
- Sentiment: Coastal Greetings – Waffle Flower
Hugs

I just love this sketch and your fun anchor and flowers are an interesting take on it! I can’t wait to play with this sketch some more!
Such a wonderful sketch, Jaydee! It’s one I am sure I will use often. Your card is lovely. The flowers against the anchor are striking. What a perfect sentiment to go with the image! Have a fabulous week!
Great sketch, Jay Dee – thank you! As beautiful as the dies are all by themselves, it’s the setting you’ve created for them that really sets this card apart: the soft blue/green base, the subtle stencilling of the water and the splattering over the top. Another great card! π
Oh I love this sketch. I have such a busy week, but I hope to fit in some time to play. I love the way you used it and the colors you chose. I just bough many, many things from WF. I love the inspiration here. Have a lovely Monday.
Jaydee…Brilliant use of the sentiment!
I love the sketch Jaydee and I love how the sentiment on your card totally shifts the use of the anchor from a masculine to a more feminine card when paired with the flowers – fabulous!
It’s a beautiful card, Jaydee! The feminine spin with the flowers is totally unexpected and quite lovely. Thanks for a great sketch to play with!
