Happy Sunday.
It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s Clean and Simple Week. The theme I chose was perfect for the Wild & Sweet stamp set – one of my new favorites from Stampin’ Up!
Here’s our challenge for this week:
This card came together really easily. I stamped the image in Memento ink and added color with my Copic markers. I added some blending to around the Koala and added texture by embossing a stitched border. Very simple.

On a personal note:
Well, the weather has been glorious this last couple of weeks and, thankfully, we had some rain last night. Our little balcony has been a pleasure to sit and enjoy the weather. Luckily it is covered so protects us from the sun and the rain. We bought a couple of chairs on sale from Target last year when we moved into our first apartment. They fit perfectly on the new balcony. We added an outdoor rug and some a couple of really cool stools. They are so pretty during the day, but come into their own at night.
Pretty during the day – but gorgeous at night!
I love the patterns the cutouts make on the carpet from the light. The fact that they are solar powered makes them even more useful as we don’t have to worry about electricity, cables, etc.
Well, talking aboout the balcony – it’s just about to start raining… so I will finish up this blog post and retreat into the apartment. I’ll be back with the final card in the Earthen Textures card inspiration series. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Jaydee that koala is so cute! Love the sponged colour behind and the embossed stitched layer is a great way to give the illusion of an additional layer. This was a fun challenge this week!

Sweet little koala, and you managed the one layer perfectly! The shading and embossing really give it the look of multiple layers and depth without the use of more cardstock! Lovely view from your balcony too…you’re definitely in the treetops!

Jaydee, You picked s beautiful image for your card. Adding the background colors and the embossed edge really adds interest to the one layer caed. So pretty!
Jaydee, this sweet little koala is just precious! The stitched frame and the background makes the card perfect! Such a great challenge for all of us! I love, love, love you balcony. Those stools that are solar powered are amazing. I too love the pattern on the rugs. I know you enjoy your tea out there, too!
Jaydee, you took me out of my comfort zone this week and I’m happy you did. This was a fun challenge in the end…even if I have been scared for this one for approximately 2 months. Haha! Your card is amazing! Love the background shading and the stitched border. Really adds so much detail without the extra layers.
