Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday might.
VERY quick post for you tonight – I'm going to have to do Beth's OWH slideshow tomorrow. We did a little rescue tonight. Lou discovered a kitten on the corner of a major road on his way home tonight. It wasn't possible to put the kitten on his bicycle handlebars, so he rode home in record time and fetched me, the car and the cat carrier. Consequently, it's 9pm and we have only just finished doing what we needed to do and are now getting dinner ready. Mind you, the kitten has already eaten. Poor little thing he was starving and really, really thirsty!
I created this card for the sweetstop sketch challenge this week. It's a great sketch, so why don't you pop along and take a look at the wonderful design team and inspiration cards.
This is one of the very few cards that I've ever made that has only a few Stampin' Up! items. I loved this balloon stamp and the Webster's pages paper. The horizontal stripe paper is from the Elegant Soiree DSP, the ribbon is Early Espresso Satin ribbon (love this ribbon!). The card base is also Early Espresso. I love the Baja Breeze and Early Espresso combination.
I love this hot air balloon. To give it the depth and dimension I needed, I embossed it in clear embossing powder and then colored it with Baja Breeze and Early Espresso. I then took my Early Espresso marker and went over the embossed lines with the fine side of the marker. This helps to give a lot of dimension to the balloon.
The background paper behind the balloon is actually cloud paper, but it's not that easy to see in the photo.
Trish, it was wonderful to hear from you today. Hang in there, my friend. It will be worth it in the end and we all continue to pray for you. Germaine, you hang in there, too. I hope they can find out the reason for your pain soon! John… I know that Sue will be so pleased that you are home and on your way to recovery. Prayers too for Angela, T, Pri, Arthur and Hugo.
Have a wonderful Friday everyone and thank you so much for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.
Hugs to you all
Jaydee

Awesome card, Jaydee. Love hot air balloons.
What a great card! I love the colors, the DSP, the layout–everything!
I am glad that there are people in the world like you that would take time to rescue a little kitty in need. That is one blessed cat!
Firstly, jaydee you brought tears to my eyes, I love cats, and am so glad you and Lou rescued this little creature! When we lived in Dubai, I used to rescue cats almost 239 cats in all the years I have lived there! But the last one we rescued is still with us (Julie) she was tiny, and fit in my palm, she was so ill when we found her, it was October’06 and we were leaving Dubai Dec’06 – but we brought her home, and it was painful to watch her she could not even eat, when we took her to the vet the next day the vet told us she was 4 months old, and she look like she was a week old!! I will post a picture of her’s on my blog, she is now 4 years old and still tiny, still insecure, she hides when she sees anyone new! it has taken her 3 years to even trust us and come close, but we still love her!! This weekend we are going to the shelter to pick up one, as there has been a plea on the local radio as many people are abandoning their animals, due to loss of jobs/homes!
Both Chris and I love cats, Jaydee and all you ladies thank you for your prayers – I am back from the specialist and he was not very helpful, changed my drugs as I am very sensitive to the previous batch – still in pain, along with a lot of burnt patches all over my body, he even went to the extent of saying there is not much they can do, as fibromyalgia does not have a treatment, and they cannot figure out what causes the pain, I may make a trip to India, to see if I can get some herbal/homeopathy done there, to see if I can at least manage the pain! I have tried everything, and it still goes on… keeping positive and thanking the Lord, as I do have a lot in my life and happy too with all of you my cyber friends and You most of all Jaydee! Hugs always! G
Oh Jaydee love your card too, and please could we have a picture of the little kitty too! Sorry forgot to mention this earlier, so engrossed with my pain!! please forgive me!! Have a lovely weekend all of you and Trish thinking of you too! Hugs to all and positive energy too!
Wonderful card, Jaydee! But what is even more wonderful is your rescue story! Simply heartwarming!
VERY pretty card! Love the colors.
So glad yall found the little kitten. You’ll have to post a picture of him.
Lynn
I LOVE that color combination. I think coffee and chocolate go with ANYTHING, so it stands to reason Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip would work so well with Baja Breeze. Ah, yet more Baja Breeze, Jaydee. ;oP
Glad Lou happened to be at the right place at the right time to rescue the kitty.
HUGS!
Hi Jaydee, love the Balloon Card. It makes me think of that time every year, I think it is in Texas when they release all of the Hot Air Balloons and the sky looks wonderful all filled with color. Your’s would look great up there too. A lot of work went into this card and it shows, Love all of the paper used and the colors are very cool together. Great job as always.
Oh poor, poor kitty. I wonder how long it had been there. I wonder if it’s Mommy was just moving them and it was the last one and she was coming back to pick it up! Thank goodness for Lou, busy intersection like that is no place for a lonely lost kitten. Oh my, how frightened and scared it must have felt and so confused. It was so Blessed to have had both of you on it’s side and come to it’s rescue. You made me so happy, and warm all over to read your story. Mine is a rescue cat, and wasn’t expected to live, but she made it and is now robust and healthy 11 years later, but I do remember holding her in one palm of my hand and feeding her by a syringe. I think the Kitty People are Special People, they have something extra good in thier hearts to give. So sorry about the late night though. Did he cry all night? Did you have him near you? I am sure that he will soon feel at home with the rest of your cats once you get him Vet Checked over.
Germaine, so sorry to have to hear that you are still in such pain. I feel for you, pain is something that I CAN relate to and keep on Praying for you daily. Today I was in soooo much pain that we thought I had a collapsed lung. So off to E.R. we went. No collapsed lung, just major trauma to my Ribs and Muscle covering the ribs. I have absolutely no clue how this happened, unless it came from coughing from the Chemo. I have been given Lydocain Patches for the Pain, since my Pain meds were not helping. The Lydocaine is helping somewhat.
For everyone else with Pain and Health Ailments, I Pray for you too. It is such a bummer and downer not to be in good health. Remember though that the Good Lord only gives us what He Knows We Can Handle. Hang in there, and be strong. Everyone else needing extra help with daily life and goings on, I send you my Well Wishes and Prayers. I do hope that things improve.
Thanks Jaydee for another fabulous card share today.
Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin
