Alex Syberia Merry Mail for As You See It Challenge #375

Happy Monday.

The talented team across at As You See It have a fabulous color challenge. Interestingly enough they called it Jungle Colors and for some reason, my very odd mind, went to Christmas for this card!! 🙂

I decided to ink up and color a set called Merry Mail from Alex Syberia. It’s one I added to my expansive “postage” collection.

Here’s a sneak peek:

I love these little images from the set and colored them using the closest colors I could get to the SU version.

I stamped, colored and die-cut the images and then mounted them onto two layers of cardstock – one Cabana and one Lemon Lime Twist. The colors are usually way outside of my comfort zone, but I had such fun coloring this set and love the bright and cheerful end result.

Here’s my card:

Honestly, I am generally a “stick to the Christmas colors” kind of person, but I’ve noticed a trend over the last couple of years to go with the more modern versions. I think they are perfect for those that celebrate Christmas in warm weather, or those that celebrate Christmas during their summer time, and thould include team member Jan who celebrates from New Zealand!

I know the team would love it if you participated in their challenge! I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Stamps and dies: Merry Mail – Alex Syberia

  1. I’m on a major post-holiday comment catch-up today Jaydee, so here goes! When I chose these colours, I absolutely had summer in mind, but I love a Christmas card in non-traditional colours and this one is just fab! The little postal stamps contain a great selection of festive images and the bird at the centre brings them together perfectly. Love it – thanks for playing at As You See It this week!

  2. Oh gosh, Jaydee – this is a splendid take on our colors! I love to see the fun brights for Christmas, and this playful card sure makes me smile! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!

  3. You rocked this Christmas card and challenge! I love the non-traditional colors for it (I usually stick to traditional also), but also your soft shading and sweet card. Love it!

  4. You nailed these colors, Jaydee! I love “out-of-the-box” Christmas colors, and these little images are so stinkin’ SWEET! Love how you arranged them as well. SO very cute! Thanks for playing with our colors this week and making them shine!

  5. Very festive, Jaydee! You’re right, they work particularly well for those who celebrate Christmas in summer weather, but I would not mind receiving them in the midst of a good old Canadian blizzard! They would sure lift the spirits, especially that adorable songbird at the focal point, who would definitely take your mind off of all the snow you’re going to have to shovel later on! Thanks for getting colourful with us here at As You See It!

  6. Well, the colours didn’t shout Christmas to me but when I see this little beauty, I wonder why not! This colourway would make for an excellent summer Christmas combining as it does Christmas imagery with summer vibes. That little peep of green behind the panel really pops all the rest of the colours. Great use of the colours! Thanks for sharing with us at As You See It.

  7. I never see Christmas in these colors but how fun! I’ve also never had a beach Christmas….so maybe that’s why. This card is so bright and colorful it would bring a smile to any Christmas holiday recipient.
