It’s the fabulous Antipodean Jan’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week, and it’s Clean and Simple week! Oh, and this time I remembered it was Clean and Simple!
Based on Jan’s theme, I brought out my Concord & 9th Silly Goose and paired it with Concord & 9th’s Beach Day dies.

Isn’t that silly goose so cute?! I love it. Here’s Jan’s theme:
It was the boots on the Silly Goose that gave me the idea for this card. I started by die-cutting the goose die pieces and putting them together. I then took the Beach Day dies and created an umbrella for the Goose.
I wanted to ground the goose so I used some bright yellow ink and blended the background. I thought the yellow went really well with the sentiment!
I had to match the boots of the goose to the umbrella, so I die-cut them in the same blue and then added white polka dots with a white gel pen. I mean, why wouldn’t a sartorialy inclined goose wear blue polka dot boots? I think there is a children’s story in their somewhere:-)
I die cut the puddle and colored it grey. I then added the sentiment and mounted all of the elements making sure that the goose and umbrella were popped up on the card.

On a personal note:
Well, I made lots of cards this week and I’ll share them with you next week. I attended the Concord & 9th Summer Camp and we got to play with some fun stuff. I’ve attended multiple virtual events but this was the most fun I’ve ever had. The team were amazingly well organized, and the sessions were informative and fun. The whole concept was around “Summer Camp” so there were campfire sessions, games and even a sneak out session. Greg and his team made sure that the virtual attendees were included in all the fun, and all round it was worth every cent. There were a couple of sets that were way outside of my normal comfort zone, but I managed to sell those to someone who didn’t attend camp the day after camp finished. I’ll definitely be attending the Winter Retreat in January.
As I spent a fair amount of time in my craft room, I didn’t get to spend much time outside. But, I did manage to capture a photo of these two. They were investigating the plants to see if there was anything edible!

I thought it was time to share a Luna update. She was lying on one of the beds that are on my craft desk. It’s way too small for her, but she managed to squeeze in.
Can we talk about the length of that toe hair!!! It’s almost 2 inches long – and she still has another year to grow! No wonder she slips and slides when she’s chasing things!
She’s also an absolutely daddy’s girl. As soon as Dad goes to bed, Luna follows him and she stays there until I come to bed a couple of hours later. I went into the bedroom on Thursday and this is what I saw!
She had been fast asleep on her back with Dad’s arm wrapped around her. You can see she doesn’t look in the least bit happy about me waking her up!
Well, I think that’s enough cat photos for tonight! I’ll be back later in the week with some cards. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

LOVE this card–what a cute idea, and the polka-dotted boots just make it all the cuter! Love your critter photos—especially love the crow in the lower right hand corner of the deer picture…at least I think that’s what it is! It looks like HE managed to get something to eat!

Well, this manages to be both stylish and cute! The lovely sunny patch behind the goose not only grounds her but adds warmth. The boots are gorgeous – and I’m with you on the idea that a sartorially inclined goose would indeed choose polka dots! This is a great use of the theme. Thank you! 🙂

What’s not to love about a goose in polka dot wellies?! I rest my case! I love the warm glow of yellow behind too. I have been admiring these dies too – they are so cute! Thanks for sharing your views on the Concord & 9th stamp camp; I love their products and was wondering about their retreats, so based on your recommendation I’m going to check out virtual options for us overseas peeps.
Can a card be any cuter? It’s a fabulous card, Jaydee! You have to love a goose in dotted boots sporting a color-coordinated umbrella. This is such a fun die. Luna is looking gorgeous. I love her “catitude”.
I love your silly goose card, Jaydee! He’s just perfect for Jan’s challenge with his umbrella and wellies, and now I really need to make one myself as there’s a color challenge that I’ve been eyeing and a goose would fit the bill perfectly. We’ve gotten some rain the last couple of days, which is great, but also some hail, which is not great! Love the pics of Luna, that is some very impressive toe hair and you can tell she is absolutely the queen of the castle. Gorgeous baby!
Jaydee, this retreat sounds so fun! I need to check out the winter one! Your little goose made me smile, but the polka dot boots steal the show. LOVE IT! Just perfect for the theme and always CAS perfection! Your visitors are always so beautiful and Ms Luna is quite the center of attention! SMILE!
And why wouldn’t a goose (especially a silly one) have blue polka dot boots? lol! I think she looks fabulous!! You always come up with such clever designs, Jaydee, and in addition, this one is quite charming and delightful as well! So glad you had fun at the C&9 retreat; I’ve heard how fun it is.
