I have a card to share with you that I made for the new Festive Friday challenge.
I was late to the party "discovering" Festive Friday and I'm so glad that I did. I love the idea of the inspiration list – it makes for so many different and interesting cards from the design team and challenge submitters. So, lots of great inspiration. For this week, I went with green, stripes and gift packaging.
When I saw the green and stripes, I decided I wanted to find a way to showcase some fabulous DSP that SU put out for the holiday catalog. It's a wonderful set of plaids. Obviously perfect for Christmas, but I think it's perfect anytime of the year. Blackwatch Tartan is an especially rich tartan and this paper really reminded me of it. The addition of the gold through it really adds the perfect touch.
I used an old die set to create the gift packages and a piece of left over gold mirror card stock to create the bow on top. Of course, I had to use my stitched rectangle to help frame everything. The parcels were popped off the focal layer and I added a simple sentiment. Here's my card
Isn't that paper just gorgeous?? I love it. I hope you pop over to the Festive Friday challenge, I know they would love to see what you create with the inspiration list!
On a personal note:
As my camera is now fixed, and we have some birds visiting us for summer, I will be able to share some photos with you. For today, here's a photo of one of my favorite birds. We were so lucky to have them nest in our front door wreath last year and were able to see them bring up their 3 babies – and see them take their first flight. This year, they have visited the wreath, but made no attempt to use it.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Yowza, Jaydee! What a clean and perfect “WOW” card! The gold bow on the top really sets of this gorgeous paper. I am so glad you discovered Festive Friday!
