Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night.
Thanks for popping by to visit me!
Tonight's card uses the fall to layout #104 from clean and simple stamping. (I actually made several cards using this layout!) as well as the theme from a new challenge site I found, Sentimental Sundays. The theme for Sentimental Sundays was to create a card with a sentiment that inspires. You really should pop along and check out the inspiration and submission cards. I know you will find something case-worthy!
Well, I don't know about you, but I certainly find Mother Teresa inspiring! I found some stamps called Wordsworth… well I guess it's short for "words worth remembering". They are fabulous sentiments and this sentiment comes from one of the sets that I bought. I don't often do cards that are focused on the sentiment – and, I don't often do cards that are primarily not SU – but tonight is one of those occasions.
I absolutely LOVE my SU, but occasionally find that there is something that I like and we do not carry something similar. This card uses Webster's Pages papers, the Wordsworth sentiment and organic linen ribbon. However, it is on a base of SU card stock and uses SU inks. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink. It works so well with this paper.
Isn't that the most amazing sentiment? I love the fact that the illustrations on the paper frame the sentiment so beautifully.
I also love this paper. I love the natural elements, it reminds me of my garden (still a work in progress- the landscaper was here again tonight!) and, of course, the chipmunks that drive the cats crazy. I swear one of the chipmunks sits on the other side of the screen door to the deck, about 3 inches away from the noses of the cats and goes "nah-nah-nah-nah-nah! you caaaaan't get me!"
On a personal note:
Trish, I had never heard of your condition until I read your comment this morning. It sounds terrible. I did google it and found several references to it, but chose to read the one on the mayo clinic site. I really like to go to trusted sites on these sorts of things. Now I can understand why they sent you for an MRI. As Brenda said, we are sending you even more prayers than normal. Please know that we all care and are thinking of you.
Let's talk about the pipsqueak-with-an-attitude – Mr Charlie! He might only weigh 7.5#s but boy, does that cat think he's Christmas, Easter, birthdays and anniversaries all bundled up in one. He is so full of himself. He really thinks he owns the joint! The others are dealing with him in different ways. The Norwegians think he's exceptionally strange – and a little pip-squeak. Little being the operative word cos the wegies are pretty big bodied cats and Bailey and Sam love teasing him! Chester… well… Chester doesn't think much of the pipsqueak at all. Muffin just looks at him as if to say… yeah… right… and you are? My old man Merlin decided to go off to his favorite spot on the couch and just go to sleep and ignore "it". As I write, the pipsqueak is exploring every inch of my stamping space, chirruping as he goes. Also, he has let us know – as only cats can – that he doesn't approve of his name! The thing I have learned over the years is that cats will not respond to a name of which they do not approve! So, we are back to the drawing board on that!
Today is cooler… oh yeah…. with very low humidity…. OH YEAH!!! It is heaven. I have had all the windows open and the breeze has been coming through. Tonight it is set to get down into the 50s! Trish, I hope this cooler weather is coming your way.
I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday! As always, thank you so much for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits, your support and your comments are always appreciated.
Hugs
Jaydee
BTW…. don't forget to join the paper players for our inspiration challenge this week.

Jaydee this is beautiful! So soothing and serene. The paper is so pretty and looks perfect with the sentiment…and that ribbon is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing…
GORGEOUS!!!! That paper is just awesome – as is the ribbon, layout, sentiment…..etc…..Everything about it is so elegant and lovely.
Loved reading about Charlie……what a cutie he must be even if the other cats don’t think so!!

Jaydee, this is a wonderful card! The paper and the ribbon are gorgeous! However, it is the sentiment that I love the most!
Jaydee, wonderful card today. I too, love Mother Teresa’s Work’s and Written Words. I can barely see so suffice it to say that the card is beautiful and that Ribbon is just perfect again.
I think that “Charlie” is going to be a keeper. How about “Charles”? Perhaps he is to big for his britches? tee heee. Must go, am in pain. Love to all, and Prayers to Everyone.
Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin
Jaydee, love your card and the sentiment too! Trish, special prayers going out your way! keep safe, God Loves you!
Jaydee.. The thing I have learned over the years is that cats will not respond to a name of which they do not approve! So, we are back to the drawing board on that! this is so true, we found a cat some years ago and we called her Smokey, and he would just not respond!! Thank you for telling me this! at least now I understand why!!
Prayers and well wishes to Missy, and all who need them! and hugs to you Jaydee and to Lou too! G
Oo, this is lovely. Mother Teresa is one of the most inspirational people I know. What wise words.
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie…wreaking havoc wherever he goes, huh? Mr. Big Britches. Hee hee! So, does this mean you’re going to keep him, or are you only socializing him?
Trish, I’m so very sorry you are in so much pain. Prayers for everyone. Germaine, good to see you visiting.
HUGS to all!
How about Lucky for a new name for the pipsqueak? He certainly is one lucky guy to become the newest member of your family!
Beautiful card Jaydee, the paper and ribbon are the perfect showcase for an amazing quote. Mother Theresa holds a very special place in my heart; I love reading about the life of this gentle soul and am always struck by the beauty of her words.
Trish, extra prayers for your strength and healing during this trial.
Hugs and prayers to all of my cyber friends in need.
Happy Hump day to One & All
I like Trish’s name idea. Maybe even “Sir Charles?!” Let me know if we can come over and help to socialize the boy. Tony is in a golf tournament this weekend so the kids and I are looking for fun things to do.
This is lovely card and such an inspiring sentiment. Thanks for joining us at the Sentimental Sundays this week 😉
Stunning card!
