Dark & Dreary – Arachnid

Hi Everyone.

Happy Tuesday night.  I hope you all had a fabulous day and are ready for hump day.

A very quick post for you all tonight.  Tonight's card uses the new Dark and Dreary set.  I felt compelled to make a clean and simple, monochromatic card using this set…. and a couple of rhinestones!

Darkdrearyarachnid

I'm sorry you couldn't see the sparkle coming from the rhinestones.  I like the fact that the grosgrain ribbon gives texture to this card.  Once again, I have used the candleabra as the motif for the bottom of the card.

Card recipe:

  • Card stock:  Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink:  Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Dark and Dreary
  • Accessories:  Rhinestone Basics, Basic Black grosgrain ribbon, Neutrals buttons
  • Tools:  Paper snips, glue, stamp-a-ma-jig

This is a really simple card to make.  The most important thing you will need for this card is a stamp-a-ma-jig.

On a personal note:  thank you to those of you who were kind enough to view my practice videos and to leave a comment.  I really do appreciate it.  The videos are a tremendous amount of effort – and took a good portion of my day yesterday.  Consequently, I am not sure that I will continue.

Today was wonderfully cool.  Much cooler than it has been.  In fact, tonight is getting down into the 40s.  This is unseasonably cool.  It did feel wonderful sitting out this afternoon having lunch though!  As I took today off, Lou and I managed to spend a little time outside.  Brenda and Cherie… Lou made his Mushrooms a la Lou for dinner as a special treat for me.  Yummy.  I think these were his best yet!

Prayers as always for Trish, Germaine, John and Sue, Arthur, T, Pri.

As always, thank you for your visit.  Your support is much appreciated. I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Fantastic card. So fitting as the season begins to change. Just this morning I noticed that it was dark at 5:30 a.m. when I went out to get the paper. I am so hoping that our cool weather continues. Glad to hear yours is better.

  2. Loved your card and the spider is perfect. I was able to view your video on the Gift Box Bow and I am amazed. You are a natural to do videos and your voice is so soothing and at the same time so informative. Great job and thanks. Please don’t let it be your last.

  3. What a wonderful, spooky card. I’m SO anxious for autumn to get here–Lily and I are counting down the days. :o) For now, it’s still summer with a high of 96 predicted for today. :sigh: A girl can dream, right? It’s especially easy given your spooktacular card. :o)
I loved both videos. I agree, you have a very soothing voice. I completely understand if that was your last as I can only imagine the time it took to edit and write over, etc. Thank you for taking the time to do the first one. :o)
    HUGS!

  4. I finally got to watch your videos today! Great job! I am happy to learn how to make those bows! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with us.
