Just Sayin for Handstamped Sentiments

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that it is Friday.  This has been a very long week and I am looking forward to some downtime and a good glass of wine!

One of the challenges I played along with on Sunday was this one:

When I saw this sketch across at handstamped sentiments, I knew that I wanted to continue playing with stencils.   So, I brought out the circle stencil and used some white embossing paste – again!  I applied it fairly thickly – as you can see below

embossing paste

However, this time I didn't wait for it to dry.  I applied two different colored embossing powders and heat set it.  The great thing about the embossing paste when you heat set it?  It puffs up!

Check this out:-)

I love the effect.  Anyway, here's my card:

Just Saying Handstamped Sentiments

I stamped the "hey there" sentiment onto Midnight Muse card stock with Versamark and used some Pewter embossing powder for the sentiment – to match one of the circles below it.  I love th Pewter, it's a softer, warmer color than the silver and I thought it went really well with the eggplant color.

To finish off the card, I took an arrow that came with my SSS card kit this month, covered it with Versamark and added some more Pewter embossing powder.  I mounted the sentiment on dimensionals and then did the same with the little arrow.

Well, I am off to have a glass of wine, cook some dinner and relax for the evening.  I hope you are all staying warm and safe.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Cheers to your weekend!! I cannot imagine is being so cold at your place . . . here in the coldest month of our Winter, the sun is shining, the sky is of a beautiful blue and I am going to work at the garden and see how my bulbs are coming out, some of the daffodils are already in bloom.
    Love.

  2. great looking card Jaydee.
Thanks for the hugs and prayers. Needed that little extra lift today
    enjoy your weekend

  3. Embossing paste is new to me–how fun!
I’m sitting on my duff watching speed skating, downhill skiing and figure skating. It’s a good day! :oP
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou!

  4. I’ve never noticed embossing paste before, dang it, now I have to try it out! HOpe things have settled down at work a bit … I’m with you on wanting the cold to be over – -18 today and quite frankly, I’m done with winter. Sadly, though, we have at least another month, if not more, of it.
Yay for George Clooney – he uses his celebrity for good. Something like that really didn’t cost him much, but yet, I’m sure the chance to win was the impetus for donations that would not have otherwise materialized. Yay for George.
Hope your week end is warmer than ours!

  5. What a fun technique! I love how you it used it with our sketch! Fun sparkly colors too 🙂 Thanks for playing along with us
