Spellbinders Ciao Spaghetti for Paper Players Challenge #786

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Ann’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a fun – and very on trend – theme for us.

There has been a plethora of food related stamps recently and I am loving them. Being married to an Italian meant that the set I used for tonight’s card was a requirement in my stash! I mean – you cannot separate an Italian and his pasta!

Here’s a sneak peek:

I think this was the first food related set I bought and I have been dying to find just the right challenge for it – and this was it!

Here’s Ann’s theme – just in case you hadn’t guessed! 🙂

This card came together very quickly. I die-cut the face with white card stock and blended some pinky/peachy color on the base and, of course, I had to add some nice red cheeks (although they are a little low!) Red/pink glossy lipstick was a requirement! I added some glossy accents after I added the color. I die-cut the spaghetti from white card stock and blended it with yellow inks.

I decided to use a green background and subtly add the white and red for the Italian flag. I popped the face up off the card base and adhered the spaghetti in some spots and left it loose in others.

I heat set the sentiment with white embossing powder and my card was complete.

Here’s my full card:

Isn’t that fun?! Seriously, such a great set from Spellbinders. It makes me smile looking at it. I do hope you will join us this week. We really would love to see YOUR takes on Ann’s theme. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

Claire Broadwater

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

  1. Just STOP! This is amazing! I am smiling and laughing at the same. time. I LOVE this card. That cute face–even red lipstick slurping that spaghetti noodle is hilarious! The green background is perfect. I hope you have an amazing week.

  2. Oh my gosh, Jaydee! This card is AMAZING! The glossy lips slurping spaghetti are a hoot. Who can resist this sentiment! I LOVE everything about this card. You definitely nailed my challenge. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Being married to an Italian who loves his pasta too, I should probably get this set….although that spaghetti looks like it would be a challenge, LOL But I just love this card–the green background is perfect and so is that adorable face! Yum!

  4. Wonderful on so many levels… but what it really made me think was how much I’d love the chance to rummage in your stamp storage area! I’m sure there would be lots of treasure in there! I’ve never seen a set like this before. Great choices around colour and ways to personalise it. Thank you for making me smile with this card!

  5. I absolutely love this Jaydee – the face detail and punny sentiment and long piece of slurpy spaghetti! Great idea to include a subtle nod to the Italian flag too. Right – I am off to see if I can find this set online!!

  6. Well, you not only conquered the spaghetti but you also captured the fun! Nothing like slurping spaghetti — especially to an Italian.

  7. I love how you didn’t adhere every single bit of the spaghetti because it gives such fun movement to this card, so cute! What a great way to incorporate Ann’s theme. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  8. This is such a fun card, Jaydee! It reminds me of when I was a kid doing just that sucking up a strand of spaghetti and making a mess. Love how your subtle addition of the Italian flag colors and that great sentiment. Food theme perfection!
