Happy Tuesday.
I have a quick post for you today featuring….. yep…. FOOD. Honestly, anyone would think they were the only stamps I have :-). I saw a great sketch across at TGIF and I was wondering what sets to use when I saw that Simon’s Wednesday challenge wanted food or dink as the focal point. Well, once I saw that, I knew exactly what I was going to use. 🙂
I loved the cluster of elements on the TGIF sketch. I couldn’t get them into the exact format of the sketch, but did manage to get 4 different focal elements into a cluster. I combined the elements from the Let’s Do Brunch set with a new Simon Hurley embossing folder called Woven. I needed to create a landing place for my food, so I created a vellum plate from the SU set called Spotlight on Nature. I think this is one of my favorite circle sets!
Here’s a sneak peek:

I think you can see that I used some Glossy Accents to give the Mimosa, egg yolk and waffle a little shimmer and shine! The bacon is hiding at the back!
Here are the challenge badges:

I began my card by die-cutting the elements. I die-cut the glass, drink, bow and egg from white card stock. I colored the central pieces of the drink and egg yellow with a Copic marker and did the same for the bow. I die=-cut the bacon and the waffle from two different shades of brown. The plate was die-cut from vellum usin one of the dies from the Spotlight on Nature set and I ran a piece of jade cardstock through my SIzzix with the new Woven embossing folder.
The sentiment was die-cut with yellow and white card stock and I adhered both pieces toether leaving a little yellow border. Once everything was die-cut, I arranged everything on my card base and popped up the sentiment with some foam dots.
Here’s my card:

Once I saw the colors, I thought this would have made a great St Patty’s day card because of the colors! I know the yellow is not quite orange enough, but I could have added a little more deeper color 🙂
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
